Now, don't get me wrong - traditions can be fun, but when they start to overshadow the true meaning of such a significant day, it's important to remind ourselves what Easter is really about.

It's not about bunnies 🐇 or chocolates 🍫. It's about something infinitely better. It's about Jesus.

Let's look at Romans 6:23, from the English Standard Version (ESV), "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

What an indescribably profound message! Jesus - God Himself - paid a price that we could never afford. He died for us, bearing the weight of our sins. And why? Because He loves us. His sacrifice was the epitome of love - a love so deep, so vast, that He willingly embraced death so that we might have life. But the story doesn't end there. He rose triumphant, conquering death, and is now alive in heaven, waiting for us.

But He, in His infinite mercy and love, sent His son Jesus Christ to redeem us. Even after accepting Christ, we don't suddenly become perfect. It's a journey, a process of sanctification that continues throughout our life on earth.

When you feel ignored or shunned in the church, remind yourself that this is not an indication of God's love for you, but rather a reflection of our imperfect nature. This is not what God wants. He wants us to love Him with all our heart and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Remember, in a world that often falls short, God never does. His love is steadfast, His promises are true and He will never let you down. Let this truth inspire you to persevere, to keep to God's commandments, and to continually strive to love as He loves us.

Good day, friends! 🙏🏻 Today, I'd like to delve into 2 Corinthians 6:14 (English Standard Version) which says, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

In this, Paul advises us not to be “unequally yoked” with non-believers. A yoke is a wooden bar that joins two oxen allowing them to pull a load together. If one ox is weaker, it could cause the stronger ox to stumble, slowing their pace, or potentially leading them off course. So too, in relationships, different faith beliefs can lead to different directions and cause discord.

This doesn't mean that we should shun or consider non-Christians unclean; after all, God's love extends to all. However, it suggests that for a Christian, marrying someone who shares our faith is vital. Marriage is an earthly reflection of our heavenly relationship with Christ, and what joy there is in having a partner who loves God as we do! 💕

This verse encourages us to be introspective, to examine potential partners not just by their words but by their fruits of faith. It reminds us to be discerning, recognizing that there may be "wolves in sheep's clothing."

As we navigate our relationships, let's remember that our ultimate aim should be to glorify God and to lead lives that reflect His love and righteousness. Let's seek partners who echo this same devotion and love for God, who encourage us to grow spiritually not just in this life, but as we prepare for the eternity in heaven.

Good Day, fellow believers! 👋

Today, we delve into the sacred scriptures, specifically to Job 33:4, "The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life." (English Standard Version). 📖

This verse proclaims life in all its divine complexity and sanctity, given and sustained by God Himself. It reminds us that we are not simply biological entities, but souls, carefully crafted and breathed into existence by our Creator.

From a Christian perspective, life is a divine gift, a precious endowment that is neither ours to take nor discard. Each heartbeat, each breath, is a sacred testament to God's love and plan. It bears witness to the foundational Christian ethos of compassion, care, and respect for all life, including the most vulnerable among us.

Assisted dying, although a topic of much debate, contradicts this fundamental belief. We as believers are called upon to assist people in living, not in dying. Our faith calls us to refute despair, to advocate for hope and life in all circumstances, and to affirm that as long as there is life, there is hope.

Life, in all its phases and forms, is valuable and worthy of respect. We must never make individuals with illnesses or disabilities feel unloved or unworthy. Instead, we should remind them of God's boundless love and His divine plan in which they play an essential part. 🕊️

In our own lives, Job 33:4 can serve as a beacon of hope. In moments of despair, it is a reminder that we are created and loved by God, and our existence is a testament to His divine plan.

Let us pray, 🙏

"Lord Almighty, we thank You for the gift of life, for the breath that sustains us, and for Your Spirit that guides us. Help us to value life in all its forms and to show compassion to the vulnerable among us. Remind us always that Your love and plan encompass all. In Jesus' name, Amen."

May we always remember that life is a divine gift, and as believers, we are called upon to cherish, protect, and affirm

"Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." - Matthew 10:37 (NIV)

At first glance, this verse from the book of Matthew could seem rather challenging, even daunting. It may even appear as if Jesus is demanding our complete, unwavering devotion at the expense of our earthly relationships. However, seen from a Christian perspective, this verse carries a profound wisdom and an invitation to a love that transcends our human understanding.

When we love Jesus more than anything else in our lives, it doesn't mean that we are to stop loving our spouses, children, or parents. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Loving Jesus first and foremost empowers us to love others more deeply, more purely, and more unconditionally. Why? Because Jesus Himself is the embodiment of perfect love. 😊

In order to love someone else fully, we need to first understand and experience genuine love ourselves. The love of Jesus, demonstrated through His sacrifice on the cross, is the purest form of love. By putting Jesus first, by loving Him more than anything else, we are immersing ourselves in this divine love. This immersion refines our ability to love and deepens our understanding of what love truly means.

When we apply this divine love in our earthly relationships, like with our spouse, it uplifts the relationship to a new level of intimacy, trust, and mutual respect. It enables us to love our partner not just till death do us part, but for all eternity, as our love transcends the physical and enters the spiritual realm.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we ask for Your guidance in putting You first in our lives. Help us understand Your perfect love, so that we may reflect it in our earthly relationships. Jesus, be the center of our lives, our love, our marriages. Amen."

Today, lets look at this comforting verse from Romans: "As it is written: 'There is no one righteous, not even one'." (Romans 3:10, NIV). 📖 Now, at first glance, you might think, "Wait a minute, that doesn't sound very comforting!" But bear with me for a moment as we delve deeper.

When the Bible states that 'there is no one righteous, not even one,' it's not intended to bring us down, but rather to lift our eyes upward to the Almighty. The truth is, none of us are perfect. We all have our flaws, our failings, and our moments of weakness. But isn't it liberating to recognize that our worth does not rest on our own righteousness, but on God's righteousness? 🙌

Depression can sometimes stem from the heavy burden of trying to meet impossible standards, of trying to be 'good enough.' But in God's eyes, you are already enough. In our weakness, His strength is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9).

This verse frees us from the oppressive weight of perfectionism. It reminds us that our inherent value lies not in our worldly accomplishments, but in the fact that we are God's beloved children. 🙏

Beloved, if you ever feel like a failure, remember this: our God is a God who uses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). Our God is good, and His goodness covers our imperfections.

Therefore, let us pray, 🙏

"Lord, thank You for Your goodness that covers our imperfections. Help us to find comfort in the fact that while we may not be righteous, You are. Remind us that our worth is found in You, not in worldly standards. Provide us with the grace to accept our human limitations and to find our strength in You. Amen."

May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). 🕊️

Today, I want to discuss a topic that often sparks much debate - should Christians marry non-Christians?

The Bible, in 2 Corinthians 6:14 (NIV), tells us: "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

This verse speaks about the importance of shared faith in a marriage. When we 'yoke' ourselves together in marriage, we become one, sharing everything including our spiritual journey. If we are 'yoked' to someone who doesn't share our faith, it leads to a division of the spirit, creating a gap that can't be bridged by mere human effort.✝️

Let's not fool ourselves; genuine faith cannot be forced nor faked. It's a divine intervention, a transformation that happens within, not just a verbal profession to keep the peace at home. Unless we see the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), we should be wary.

So, why is this important? Because, my friends, marriage is not just about two people. It's about God, you, and your spouse. It's a divine covenant, a commitment you make before God. When both partners believe in Christ, it strengthens the union, bonds the relationship, and provides a solid foundation for raising children in the faith. This shared faith makes it easier to navigate life's storms together, leaning on Christ.💒

Let's pray: Dear Lord, guide us in our relationships, to discern wisely, and to choose a partner who shares our love for You. Help us not to be unequally yoked, but instead, united in our faith and love for You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.🙏

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? Amen, amen! What a powerful charge! It's clear as crystal, friends. We are called to act, not just believe. We are called to be the preachers of the Gospel. It is our sacred duty to bring the Good News to those who are lost in their sins. It's not a task that we should pass onto others, rather it is our personal responsibility to reach out to those lost sheep.

This charge isn't merely about increasing the numbers in our congregations. It's about helping others find the salvation and peace that we found in Christ. We've tasted the goodness of the Lord, and it's too wonderful not to share! Isn't it amazing, friends? 🎉

When we actively participate in spreading the Gospel, we cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of God's Word. We strengthen our faith, and we open ourselves to the blessings that come with obedience to God's command.

Let us pray, "Dear Lord, thank you for trusting us with the sacred duty of spreading your Word. Please guide us and give us the courage to share your Gospel. Let our feet be beautiful in your sight as we bring the Good News to those who are lost. Amen. 🙏"

This verse emphasizes the importance of acting on our faith. We do not earn our salvation through good works; it is a gift from God, bestowed upon us through faith. But a true, living faith creates a heart that longs to do good. As we grow in our faith, we should naturally want to help those in need. It's not about earning favor; it's about gratitude and love for our Creator, who first loved us.

In our daily lives, let this verse serve as a nudge. When we see someone in need, let's not just offer words of comfort and then move on about our day. Let's roll up our sleeves and help. 😊

There's a real beauty in living out our faith in this way. It brings us closer to the heart of God and captures the essence of the Gospel - love in action. 💓

Trusting God in Times of Loneliness

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (ESV)

We all have moments when we feel alone, isolated, and misunderstood. Here, the Apostle Paul, in one of his darkest hours, finds solace in the very essence of God's character - the "Father of mercies and God of all comfort." Paul reminds us that it is in our affliction where we most tangibly experience God's comfort. Isn't that beautiful? 🙏

The same God who comforts Paul in his time of need is the same God who comforts you and me today. The Greek word for comfort, "paraklesis," literally means "called to one's side," suggesting the intimate and personal nature of God's comfort. It's like God wrapping His loving arms around us, saying, "You're not alone. I'm here with you." 🌟

But God's comfort doesn't end with us. As God comforts us, we are then equipped to comfort others - a divine ripple effect of His love and mercy. As we experience God's comfort in our loneliness, we develop empathy and understanding for others who are lonely, reinforcing the bond of fellowship among the body of Christ.

So let's pray. 🙏

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to remember that You are the God of all comfort. In moments of loneliness, help us to lean into Your love and embrace Your merciful comfort. Empower us, Lord, to extend that comfort to others who are experiencing loneliness, helping us become steadfast bearers of Your Light in this world. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙌🕯️

Dear friends, have you seen the latest campaign video by Donald Trump? It goes by the title, "So God Created Donald Trump" and even as I write this, it makes my heart heavy. It would seem our good friend is applying a bit of scriptural creativity, so to speak, drawing from the beloved words of John 3:16 from our NIV Bible, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son..."

This campaign video, however, takes a dodgy turn, suggesting that Donald Trump is the shepherd for all mankind. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't our dear Lord Jesus Christ the true shepherd? 😕
Ah, but this is just our friend's usual style, isn't it? Seemingly using every trick in the book to persuade those of us in the right wing to cast our votes his way. Apparently, he's been sent to "make America great again," but between you, me and the Sunday morning congregation, this doesn't sit quite right with me. 😔

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly a cheerleader for the democrats myself. But using the Holy Bible and our Christian faith to steer himself into a presidential position? That's a bit rich, don't you think? 😒

And here's the kicker, friends. Look at how this individual speaks about women, the hurtful insults he hurls, his evident lack of compassion for the less fortunate among us... I've got to tell you, I'm not seeing much of the 'fruit of the Spirit' in him, are you? 🤔

We are called to demonstrate love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Is our friend showing these signs of true belief in Jesus? Or is he merely using the Christian faith to promote his own agenda? 🙁

Have you ever felt the cold, stony silence of an unwelcoming congregation? Have you ever been on the receiving end of disdainful gazes, simply for being a newcomer? Have you ever been denied the basic common decency we're all entitled to? I have. And let me tell you, it's enough to shatter the faith of even the most devout Christian.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not here to accuse or to point fingers. But I am here to express my anguish, my disillusionment. How can we call ourselves followers of Christ when we refuse to follow his most basic commandment?

"Do to others what you want them to do to you,” the Good Book says in Matthew 7:12. Simple, isn't it? Yet, our churches are teeming with souls who would sooner behave like pagans than heed His Word.

How is it that we, the bearers of His Word, fail so spectacularly in basic human decency? Would Jesus ignore a newcomer to His flock? Of course not. So why do we?

My story, is not unique. It's the tale of many who've been left disheartened and disillusioned by the cold, unwelcoming embrace of the Church of England.

It's not right. It's not what Jesus would have wanted. It's not what He preached. And it's certainly not how we should treat each other.

So, what's the solution, you ask? It's simple. We need to behave like Christians. We need to welcome newcomers, to extend our hands in friendship, to be that beacon of light for those lost in the darkness.

We need to build genuine relationships, to truly connect with each other. And remember, it's the little things that count. A warm smile, a friendly nod, a helping hand - these are the things that make a church a haven.

And if you're still not convinced, remember this - "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience," Colossians 3:12 admonishes us.

Let's make our churches the sanctuaries they are meant to be.

As a christian are you tempted to find love through a dating app? Well, If you are then I urge you to pause and reflect. 🤔 The concept behind these apps doesn't quite align with what our Good Book teaches about love and marriage, does it? The Bible, particularly in 1 Samuel 16:7, reminds us, "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"

And yet, these apps seem to promote a marketplace mentality, where folks are judged based on their looks, job prospects, and other superficial things. Can this really foster genuine relationships? 🤷‍♂️

So-called Christian dating apps often aren't any better. Many Christian dating apps are set up by the same companies that create dating apps for other religions, demonstrating a lack of genuine care for Christian relationships. Instead, they might just be interested in profiting from us Christians wanting to find love. And how can you be sure the person on the other side of the screen is genuinely sharing your faith? 😔

Instead, let's look to our own churches, brothers and sisters! 🙏🏼 There, we can better judge a person's faith and character. And isn't it wonderful to get advice from our trusted church family about potential partners?

We should not demean ourselves by participating in these impersonal dating apps, even ones that claim to cater to Christians. We should take heart and have confidence in ourselves to engage with each other in real life, in our churches! 💪🏼🙂

The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This verse reminds us that no one is exempt from sin, and that we are all in need of a saviour for us to go to heaven. It can be difficult to come to terms with our own faults, but it is an essential step in our spiritual growth.

We cannot enter the kingdom of God as sinners, but luckily for us, Jesus Christ died on the cross to wash away our sins. As John 3:16 states, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." This sacrifice was not easy for Jesus, who lived a perfect and sinless life despite being exposed to all the temptations and harshness of this fallen world. Yet he willingly gave his life for us, out of his deep love and compassion for humanity.

As we approach Easter, let us remember the true meaning of the holiday. It is not just about chocolate bunnies and colorful eggs, but about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us. He faced humiliation, torture, and death, all to save us from our own sins. And even after he rose from the dead, he did not seek revenge or punishment, but rather forgave us for our transgressions.

We must acknowledge our own weaknesses and faults, and turn to Jesus for redemption and salvation. We cannot enter heaven as sinners, but we can be washed clean through the blood of Christ. Let us remember the true meaning of Easter, and give thanks for the gift of eternal life that Jesus has given us. As C.S. Lewis once said, "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." Let us allow the light of Christ to save and guide us!
