You’ve got to be kidding me! Just when you think you’ve heard it all, NATO and our army chiefs add to the mix a new threat of conscription. They babble about an impending conflict, a war we might need to brace ourselves for. Yet, here’s a fun fact for you, a recent poll showed a whopping 90% of Brits would refuse to be dragged into combat. Yes, you heard it right! Democracy has spoken, loud and clear! 📣
😡 But our self-serving government conveniently turns a deaf ear to the voice of the majority. The thought of being forced to fight for a country that doesn’t give two hoots about us is mind-boggling. Conscription, especially when a huge chunk of the public is against it, is an affront to democracy. The very value they claim we need to defend! 🤷♂️
As a white, straight, single man, I feel like this country despises me. If a war breaks out, I bet I’d be quickly replaced by the incoming hoards of migrants, both legal and illegal, who are seemingly handed everything they could wish for without lifting a finger as soon as they come here. Why should I defend a country that celebrates values I find abhorrent, like gay marriage? Why should I become cannon fodder for a country that bows to a American monopolies, squashing small businesses and making it impossible for us to earn a decent living?
💸These monopolies continue to rake in billions while paying zilch in taxes. And why can they get away with it? Because our corrupt politicians are too busy lining their own pockets. They won’t stick their necks out for the little people, not when they're being bribed by these corporate bigwigs. Why on earth should I fight for these greedy politicians?❓
😤 Yes, I would have fought in World War I and II, but this is not the country I would willingly lay down my life for anymore. The values of this nation have strayed so far from mine that I would go as far as to say I would fight AGAINST THIS COUNTRY. 🚫🚫
